The Great Northern Mall in Clay is closed once again, this time due to a power outage that only affected the mall.
The mall’s owner Mike Kohan said the closure is related to issues with the electrical and sprinkler system, though some mall tenants, like Noal White of CNY Mac Store, are skeptical of this explanation, according to CNY Central. The mall shutdown for over a month earlier this year due to burst pipes and a broken heating system.

National Grid said the mall’s loss of power is not related to an area outage or technical issue.
If the mall’s owner fails to pay Onondaga County for past due bills, the mall could go up for auction in October or be taken over by the county.
