Seneca Falls teen ticketed after serious two-car crash on Rt. 318

The Seneca County Sheriff’s Office reports that on April 1 around 4 p.m. deputies responded to the area of Route 318 and Black Brook Road for a two car crash with injuries.

Investigation into the wreck showed that the operator of the pickup truck, identified as 16-year-old Hunter Worden, of Seneca Falls started to make a left turn off of Route 318 without yielding the right of way.

As result, 61-year-old Michael Jimenez, of Trumansburg swerved to miss the truck and was unable to do so.

A near head-on collision occurred, and both vehicles sustained heavy damage. One person was transported to Geneva General Hospital by North Seneca Ambulance.

Worden was ticketed for failing to yield the right of way. The pickup truck and SUV were both removed from the scene by tow companies.

New York State Police, Seneca Falls Fire Department, and Clyde Fire Department all assisted.
