Police say a Geneva man was arrested following a complaint of an unattended child.
According to a news release, the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office arrested David L. Eldridge, 36, of Geneva for endangering the welfare of a child.
The arrest is a result of an investigation into a complaint of a child found walking near the Dunkin in Geneva unattended. It was discovered Eldridge left the three-year-old child and allowed him to walk into the parking lot in the area of moving motor vehicles. Multiple witnesses stated they were concerned that the child was going to walk onto State Route 5&20 and possibly be hit by a car. Additionally, it was found that Eldridge is already on probation for a previous endangering charge and was taken into custody.
Eldridge will answer charges at a later date and the child was safely returned to the care of his mother.
