The No. 7 Cornell men’s lacrosse team (8-1, 2-1 Ivy) picked up an 8-7 victory over the Dartmouth Big Green (4-4, 0-2 Ivy) on Saturday afternoon at Scully-Fahey Field.
Cornell’s Chayse Ierlan made a huge save with seven seconds left to allow the Big Red to run out the clock and hang on for the one-goal victory. Ierlan finished with eight saves to earn his eighth win of the season.
Billy Coyle and John Piatelli both had two goals and an assist, with Coyle netting the game-winner with 3:08 remaining. Hugh Kelleher also scored twice in the win while CJ Kirst and Spencer Wirtheim each added a goal to round out the scoring.
Tommy Rogan led Dartmouth with four points from a hat trick and one helper, while George Prince was right behind with three points.
Daniel Hincks stopped 16 shots and made some big saves to keep the Big Green in the game.
Cornell will host Harvard next Saturday at 3 p.m.
