Two arrested in Seneca Falls after months long child sex abuse investigation

Police have made two arrests following a months-long investigation into allegations of child sex abuse in Seneca Falls.

The Seneca Falls Police Department led the investigation and announced the arrest of Angila Burnett, 30, and Craig Kaufman, 38, both of Seneca County.

Burnett was arrested on Thursday, March 31. She was charged with two counts of first-degree sex abuse, second-degree criminal facilitation, and endangering the welfare of a child. Two of the charges are felonies.

Kaufman was arrested on Friday, April 1, charged with predatory sex assault against a child, four counts of first-degree sex abuse, two counts of criminal sex act, and aggravated sexual abuse. All of those charges are felonies, according to police.

Kaufman was on parole at the time of the crimes. Police added that Kaufman was released from parole as part of the Less is More Act.

The Seneca Falls Police Department said they were assisted by New York State Police, Seneca County Sheriff’s Office, Seneca County District Attorney’s Office, Seneca County Child Protective Services, and the Child Advocacy Center of the Finger Lakes.
