If you didn’t get a $1,400 stimulus check you might need to amend your tax return

Many people already filed their taxes but didn’t get a stimulus check for $1,400.

Through IRS Letters 6475, they have been reminding people to claim the remaining third-round stimulus payment. The check would’ve been for $1,400. Read more about it here.

To check to see if you already received the payment, look at your bank records from the early spring and summer of 2021. If you find there is no record of payment, and you already filed, you may need to file an amended tax return.

If you got IRS Letter 6475 after you filed, and were unaware that you could claim the credit, you will need to file an amendment.
