Visits to inmates at the Yates County Jail will resume this Saturday as certain COVID-19 restrictions are lifted.
Sheriff Ron Spike suspended all jail visits on January 10, 2022 to limit the spread of COVID within the facility, according to The Chronicle Express.
The Yates County website states non-contact visits are now allowed on Saturdays and Sundays. All visitors must schedule an appointment by calling (315) 536-5175. Visitors must be checked in at least 15 minutes prior to their scheduled visit time.
Visitation hours are as follows:
8:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.
1 p.m. – 4 p.m.
5:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.
Visitors must also adhere to COVID protocol. They are required to obtain a temperature check, maintain social distancing, wear a mask, and limit visits to 30 minutes to allow for sanitation between visitation hours.
Spike said jail administrative staff will consider lifting all restrictions after monitoring special visitation rollout.
