Popular Ithaca ice cream business Sweet Melissa’s has recently begun circulating their pints of hard ice cream all across New York State.
Melissa and Matt Kenny opened Sweet Melissa’s in 2009. The couple operates a soft-serve ice cream shop at 200 W Seneca St. in Ithaca.
Previously, the couple had a secondary location at Press Bay Alley to sell their pints of hard ice cream. The secondary location closed permanently in April 2020 due to the COVID pandemic, according to Ithaca Voice. Melissa also had a milk production plant in Trumansburg that, sadly, was forced to close as well.
The closures left the Kennys without a venue to sell their hard ice cream, and so they began searching for a distributor. Regional Access, a wholesaler that focuses on small businesses and grocery stores, was chosen to circulate pints of Sweet Melissa’s hard ice cream across New York State.
Perseverance certainly paid off for Sweet Melissa’s. Now, the business has wider circulation that ever before. Check out their website for a full list of stores where pints of Sweet Melissa’s hard ice cream are sold.
