Sabres extend point streak in 3-2 shootout loss to Jets

The Buffalo Sabres extended their point streak to seven games, but fell to the Winnipeg Jets, 3-2, in a shootout on Wednesday night at KeyBank Center.

Six of the Sabres last seven games have gone into overtime.

Craig Anderson stopped 25-of-27 shots in the loss.

Blake Wheeler scored in regulation and also added the shootout-deciding goal. Mason Appleton also tallied in regulation for Winnipeg and Pierre-Luc Dubois and Mark Scheifele added goals in the shootout.

Connor Hellebuyck turned aside 35-of-37 shots to earn the win.

Buffalo finished 0-for-2 on the power play and a perfect 1-for-1 on the penalty kill.

The Sabres will continue their four-game homestand on Friday night when they host the Nashville Predators at 7 p.m.
