Sabres’ Mattias Samuelsson day-to-day with undisclosed injury

Buffalo Sabres defenseman Mattias Samuelsson is day-to-day with an undisclosed injury and is not expected to be in the lineup for Wednesday’s home game against the Winnipeg Jets, head coach Don Granato said.

“He could be fine to play tonight, but I don’t expect him tonight,” Granato said following the morning skate.

Samuelsson did not participate in the morning skate.

Granato said Samuelsson suffered the injury in Monday’s 6-5 win over the Chicago Blackhawks, but played through it.

The rookie has tallied six assists in 29 games with Buffalo this season. He is still looking for his first NHL goal.

Defenseman Mark Pysyk, who has been a healthy scratch the last two games, is expected to take his spot in the lineup.

Face-off for Wednesday’s game is slated for 7 p.m.
