The city of Auburn needs to find an additional $300,000 or make some changes to the proposed new skate park at Casey Park.
The total estimated cost is about $800,000 for the design presented by Grindline Skateparks at at public meeting at the Equal Rights Heritage Center last week. Auburn City Clerk Chuck Mason says the design, based on public input at previous meetings, was well received.
The city is optimistic that it can close the funding gap and put the project to bid this year, so the park can be ready to use next spring.
