Bath man detains victim during dispute; SWAT team called

Police say a Steuben County man was arrested following a domestic incident.

According to a news release, the Steuben County Sheriff’s Office arrested Bruce Campbell, 38, of Bath for weapon possession, unlawful imprisonment, menacing, and criminal mischief.

It is alleged that Campbell forcibly detained another person, threatened them with a weapon, and damaged property. When police arrived on scene, he did not comply with orders to exit the residence and submit to his arrest. Upon several attempts to take Campbell into custody, he refused until the SWAT team responded and then surrendered himself.

Campbell was taken into custody and is pending arraignment.
