Tastings, Sponsors and Donations Sought for
Kiwanis Club of Canandaigua’s 2022 Chef’s Challenge Event

CANANDAIGUA, NY – Kiwanis Club of Canandaigua is hosting its 8th annual Kiwanis Chef’s Challenge on Sunday, May 1, 2022 from 2 to 5 p.m. at Kings Catering in Canandaigua. The club is seeking local chefs, wineries, breweries, and tastings of other delights to participate in the event and showcase their talents and products. Donations for the large silent auction as well as a variety of sponsorships are also appreciated.

Every dollar made from this event goes directly back into the Kiwanis project fund to be utilized for scholarships, community projects such as the Inclusion in Motion Playground and free children’s activities such as the annual Easter Egg Hunt at Canandaigua Elementary, the bike rodeo and the Salvation Army Christmas Party, just to name a few.

This event will showcase over 20 area professional chefs and sips who will serve sample-sized appetizers, entrees, soups/salads and desserts for the enjoyment of approximately 350 guests. Highlights of this fundraiser include more than 100 silent auction items, wine, beer, spirits, tea and coffee tastings as well. Previous year’s event raised close to $12,000 thanks to the generous support of our Kiwanis Partners, sponsors, advertisers, donors, tastings and attendees.

There will be a competition for food categories for two separate groups where a panel of judges will vote for their favorites. Awards will be given for Best Chef of the event as well as awards for 2nd and 3rd place winners.

Space is limited on a first come first-served basis. For more information, contact Chef’s Challenge Committee Chairs Kimberly Sandic at (585) 455-2622 or Kat Purbeck at (815) 302-7823.
