How much is the Child Tax Credit worth?

Eligible families were able to claim Child Tax Credit payments. These payments reached a maximum of $300 per month per child five years old or younger. There is a $250 maximum per month per child between six and 17 years old. Read more about it here.

These payments were made on the 15th of every month from July to December 0f 2021. The final payment will come in April, 2022. You can get paid up to $1,800 for kids five and younger and $1,500 for children ages six to 17.

Some people opted out of the advance payments. This means that they will receive the full amounts of either $3,600 or $3,000 this April.

However, if you joined late, you’ll be owed a different amount. You should have received a letter from the IRS outlining how much you have received and how much is still due.
