The Buffalo Sabres have placed forward John Hayden in the NHL’s COVID-19 protocol, the team announced Monday.
Hayden tested positive for COVID-19 on Sunday before the Sabres morning skate, according to John Vogl of The Athletic.
General manager Kevyn Adams spoke to reporters Monday and said Hayden is still in Vancouver and will remain there until he produces back-to-back negative tests.
Hayden, 27, has tallied four points (2 goals, 2 assists) in 52 games with Buffalo this season.
