Ontario County Sheriff’s Office welcomes new K9 to the force

The latest addition to the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office is a K9 called Malcolm.

The dog is named after late Deputy Malcolm Strong, according to News10 NBC. Strong served the sheriff’s office from 1978 until his death in an on-duty vehicle accident in 1983.

K9 Malcolm and his handler Deputy Brett Lowry will spend the next few weeks undergoing training to be certified in narcotics, patrol, and bomb detection.
