Police are investigating after an overnight shooting at the intersection of West State and Plain streets in the city of Ithaca.
According to a news release, on Sunday around 2:56 a.m. police, along with Bangs Ambulance, and Ithaca Fire Department responded to the intersection for the report of two people who were shot.
Upon arrival, officers found a person who was shot multiple times. They were transported to a regional trauma center with serious injuries.
Officers also located physical evidence of a shooting, including shell casings from a handgun.
Witnesses described the suspects of the shooting as two black males, who were tall, thin, and wearing hooded sweatshirts. One of them was wearing an all-black sweatshirt and the other was wearing a black sweatshirt that had red sleeves.
The investigation is active and anyone with information is asked to call IPD.
