The New York Yankees announced Friday that they have acquired right-handed pitcher Justin Lange from the San Diego Padres in exchange for first baseman Luke Voit.

MLB Pipeline ranked Lange as the Padres’ No. 8 overall prospect. Baseball America had him at No. 16 in San Diego’s organization.
Voit, 31, has hit .267/.357/.510 with 187 runs, 47 doubles, 2 triples, 73 home runs, 203RBI and 133 walks in 351 career games over parts of five Major League seasons with the St. Louis Cardinals (2017-18) and the Yankees (2018-21).
The Yankees 40-man roster now stands at 39.
