The Buffalo Bills announced Friday that they have released veteran defensive tackle Star Lotulelei.
Lotulelei signed a five-year, $50 million contract with the Bills in 2018.
The move saves $1.5 million in cap space and results in $7.7 million in dead cap this year. Buffalo will not have dead cap left over from the release next year.
The 32-year-old played in 43 regular season games while making 40 starts for the team since 2018. He totaled 5.0 sacks, one interception and 53 tackles as a staple in the interior of the defensive line.
The Bills signed defensive tackles Tim Settle, Jordan Phillips and DaQuan Jones in free agency.
