The No. 3 Syracuse Orange women’s lacrosse team (6-2, 3-0 ACC) fell into an early hole and couldn’t climb out of it as they fell to the No. 13 Florida Gators (3-4, 0-0 AAC), 14-10, on Wednesday evening at Dizney Stadium in Gainesville, Florida.
Florida led 6-1 after the first quarter and 10-5 at the break. Syracuse held Florida to just four goals in the second half, but it wasn’t enough.
Emily Hawryschuk netted a hat trick to lead the Orange and Emma Tyrrell scored twice in the loss.
