The New York Yankees will be bringing back a familiar face.
According to Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic, the team is re-signing first baseman Anthony Rizzo to a multi-year contract. The contract is for two years and $32 million with an opt-out clause after the first season.
The Yankees have not made the signing official as he still has to take a physical.
New York acquired Rizzo from the Chicago Cubs at the trade deadline last year. He hit .248/.344/.440 with 22 homers in 141 games between the Cubs and Yankees in 2021.
