Watkins Glen High School to present “Cinderella”

The Watkins Glen Class of 2022 will present the family friendly, Prince Street Players’ version of the musical, “Cinderella,” March 25-27, 2022, at the Watkins Glen High School Auditorium, 301 12th Street in Watkins Glen.

“Cinderella” will run Friday, March 25, 2022, and Saturday, March 26, 2022, at 7:30 p.m., and Sunday, March 27, 2022, at 2:30 p.m.  Tickets are $12 for adults, $10 for senior citizens and students, $5 for children age 5-10, and will be available at the door.

Students from 7th to 12th grades have been rehearsing since January, immersing themselves in the funny, audience-interaction-rich, dance-full, musical take on the popular fairy tale.  Memorable songs include “The Slipper Routine,” “The Sneeze Polka,” and “Hi Diddle Dee.”

Michelle and Tim Benjamin of Montour Falls are directing, with Sarah Matthews as Music Director.   Costume Director is Amy Wysocki.

The Fairy Godmother, played by Sarah Schaeffner, saves the day in this version of the show, assisted by her two Helpers, played by Kai Lees and Macy Fitzgerald.  Will Cinderella, played by Melanie Wysocki, live happily ever after with her Prince Charming, played by Douglas DiGregorio?  Not if the Stepmother, played by Anya Simpson, and her two daughters, played by Aleks Burke and Finn Roney, have anything to say about it.  Bring in King Darling, played by Nick Brusso, and a talented Ensemble including, Aimee Lilac Cruz, Kay Davis, Norah Stegner, Natalie VanSkiver and Grace Wood, and it makes for a fun, entertaining evening.  You’re sure to walk away singing a song or two, and maybe dancing some new steps.

Producer is Sam Brubaker, and the show is presented by the Watkins Glen High School Class of 2022, in cooperation with Music Theater International.
