Three RIT players earned Atlantic Hockey All-Conference honors on Wednesday.
Will Calverley was named an All-Atlantic Hockey First-Team selection, while freshman forward Carter Wilkie and freshman goaltender Tommy Scarfone landed All-Rookie Team honors.
Calverley finished the regular season ranked first in Atlantic Hockey with 15 goals and tied for fourth with 26 points.
Wilkie finished the regular season ranked third in the league with 27 points and second with 12 goals. He also notched his sixth game-winning goal of the season in the Tigers’ 3-1 victory over Sacred Heart (March 13) in the deciding game of the Atlantic Hockey Quarterfinal series, which is tied for the second-highest total in the country.
Scarfone is currently tied for first in Atlantic Hockey with a 2.38 goals against average and is fourth with a .922 save percentage while compiling an 8-8-1 record. He has started the Tigers’ last 10 games, compiling a .936 save percentage and a 1.95 goals against average – including a .949 save percentage and a 1.27 GAA in the Sacred Heart series last weekend.
RIT is scheduled to face Air Force in the Atlantic Hockey Tournament Semifinals this Friday (March 18) at 7:35 p.m. at the Adirondack Bank Center in Utica, N.Y. The winner advances to play for the conference championship on Saturday at 7:05 p.m. with a berth in the NCAA Tournament on the line.
