Buffalo Sabres defenseman Colin Miller is expected to return to the lineup sometime during the upcoming three-game road trip, head coach Don Granato announced on Wednesday.
Miller has missed the last 23 games due to a lower-body injury that required surgery.
The 29-year-old is in the final year of his contract. He has tallied 12 points (2 goals, 10 assists) in 32 games this season.
The Sabres will have to make a roster move to add Miller to the roster. The team will likely place defenseman Casey Fitzgerald on injured reserve.
Buffalo will begin the three-game road trip in Edmonton on Thursday against the Oilers. Face-off is slated for 9 p.m.
