There’s a new Mayor in the village of Penn Yan by the thinnest of margins.
When the votes were counted Tuesday, incumbent Mayor Leigh MacKerchar was defeated by Deputy Mayor Dan Condella 259-256. The three vote margin triggered an automatic recount under state law and FingerLakesDailyNews.com reports the recount has confirmed Condella’s election.
Village Trustees Norman Koek and Teresa Hoban were re-elected. Daniel Irwin was elected for the first time. The top three were elected from a field of seven.
