New York’s Libertarian candidate for governor Larry Sharpe is hoping to secure enough signatures to be included on this year’s ballot.
The two-time candidate for governor is facing an uphill battle after the state upped the number of signatures required for a third party candidate to qualify for automatic ballot access, according to Binghamton News.
Sharpe has received endorsements from the Unite New York Party and Forward Party- the latter was founded in 2021 by former presidential candidate Andrew Yang. Sharpe is forced to spend and raise hundreds of thousands of dollars in order to reach the 45,000 signature threshold within a six-week window.
