Bills hire Mike Shula as senior offensive assistant

The Buffalo Bills have made more changes to their coaching staff.

The team announced on Tuesday that former Alabama head coach and longtime NFL assistant Mike Shula has been added to the staff as a senior offensive assistant.

Shula spent last season with the Denver Broncos as their quarterbacks coach. Shula has also coached for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Miami Dolphins, Chicago Bears, Jacksonville Jaguars, Carolina Panthers and New York Giants.

Eric Washington has been promoted to defensive line coach/senior defensive assistant. He has been Buffalo’s defensive line coach for the last two seasons.

Bills head coach Sean McDermott, offensive coordinator Ken Dorsey and General Manager Brandon Beane were all in Carolina for part of Shula’s run with the Panthers.
