Town of Lodi schedules public hearing on CARES grant application for food pantry

The Lodi Town Board has voted to hold a public hearing on applying for CARES Act funding for the Lodi Food4All pantry’s space in the proposed new Town Hall.

Town Supervisor Kyle Barnhart says the money comes with no strings attached and represents a great opportunity to ensure the pantry’s future, not only for food distribution, but as a community gathering place.

The money is available through the state Office of Housing and Community Renewal. The public hearing will be April 14. It’s the required first step in applying for the grant. The town had hoped to open bids for the Town Hall construction at that time, but  the bidding process has been delayed. Bids are now expected to be received by the end of April.
