Police report the arrest of a Newark man following investigation into a vehicle and traffic stop that occurred in November 2021.
According to a news release, the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office arrested Julian M. Jacobs, 44, of Newark for criminal possession of a controlled substance, driving while intoxicated, and multiple traffic violations.
During the stop, Jacobs was found to be intoxicated by alcohol with a BAC of 0.12%. Upon investigation, deputies located approximately 1.5 grams of cocaine on him. Jacobs was released pending the toxicology analysis of the suspected cocaine and later taken into custody once the substance was confirmed.
Jacobs will return to the Newark Village Court at a later date to answer charges.
