As people submit their 2021 tax returns to the IRS to await refunds, many Americans still have yet to see refunds for their 2020 taxes.

There will be job fairs on March 16, 23, and 30.

They will be at the IRS processing centers in the following locations

  • Austin, Texas
  • Kansas City, Missouri
  • Ogden, Utah

Jobs will be offered on the spot.

There will be temporary, term, and permanent job offers.

Positions are both entry level clerk and examiner positions.

The positions are on the Wage and Investment Division.

This division handles processing submissions, payments, and notifying about the status of returns.

How much will I make working for the IRS with no experience?

The federal workers hired are guaranteed at least $15 per hour.

Annual pay ranges from $23,000 to $47,000.

If applicants receive an offer, they can expect to start work within 30-45 days.

5,000 more will be hired by the IRS in 2023

In 2021 there were 82,000 employees with the IRS.

The goal is to raise that number by 10,000 in two years.

This would bring staffing levels back to what they were in 2010 at 94,000.
