Crunch fall to Marlies in shootout, 3-2

The Syracuse Crunch fell to the Toronto Marlies, 3-2, in shootout on Saturday night at Upstate Medical University Arena.

Toronto won the shootout, 2-0.

Hugo Alnefelt stopped 14-of-15 shots for the Crunch before leaving the game due to injury. Max Lagace turned aside 10-of-11 shots in relief.

Michael Hutchinson made 35 saves for the Marlies to earn the victory.


Syracuse finished 0-for-4 on the power play and 2-for-2 on the penalty kill.

Remi Elie and Daniel Walcott scored for the Crunch.

Joey Anderson and Joseph Duszak tallied for the Marlies. Anderson also scored in the shootout while Mikhail Abramov netted the other goal in the shootout.

Syracuse hosts the Rochester Americans on Sunday at 5 p.m.
