Cayuga County Sheriff Brian Schenck pleased with quick investigation of Auburn School Resource Officer

Cayuga County Sheriff Brian Schenck says he’s proud of the investigative work done by his department that led to the arrest of Auburn High School Resource officer William Morrissey III of the Auburn Police Department.

Auburn PD turned the investigation over to the Sheriff’s Department after several officials received anonymous complaints about Morrissey’s behavior. He was removed from his position in the school March 1 and arrested March 3 and charged with sexual abuse and other charges. Authorities later obtained a recording of a phone call in which Morrissey allegedly asked the 14 year old victim to lie about having had physical contact with him.
