Local accounting firm Mengel Metzger Barr & Co. announces three new hires

Mengel Metzger Barr & Co. LLP, a locally owned accounting firm providing a variety of financial services, is pleased to announce three new hires. Samantha Lautner and Christina Poles have been hired as staff accountants in the Rochester office and Claire Russell has been hired as a staff accountant in the Canandaigua office. In their new positions, Lautner, Poles and Russell will be responsible for assisting with assurance engagements, including testing inventory and preparing financial statements, in addition to organizing and preparing tax returns.

Lautner attended Monroe Community College and SUNY Brockport, where she received a bachelor’s in accounting and bachelor’s in finance. Lautner resides in Greece, New York.

Poles comes to Mengel Metzger Barr & Co. after most recently working at Zweigle’s as a junior accountant/cost accountant/data analyst. She previously worked at Monro Muffler in accounts receivable. Poles received a bachelor’s in accounting from SUNY Brockport and an associate degree from Monroe Community College in liberal arts/science. She resides in Rochester with her family.

Russell assumes a full-time position at Mengel Metzger Barr & Co. after previously serving two busy tax-season internships with the firm. The Canandaigua resident received an A.S. in business administration from Monroe Community College and a B.S. in accounting from SUNY Geneseo. Russell resides in Canandaigua.
