The Ontario County Sheriff’s Office says a fatal crash on County Road 18 in the town of Gorham remains under investigation- and prompted a closure of the road.
Deputies were called for the single-vehicle crash around 12:46 p.m. on Friday.
The operator, identified as Roosevelt Collins, 82, of Penn Yan is believed to have experienced a medical emergency, causing his vehicle to leave the road and enter an earth embankment.
He was found deceased at the scene. Emergency services shut down the road for one hour.
Deputies were assisted by firefighters and EMS personnel from Gorham, Canandaigua, and Crystal Beach.
