Sabres blown out by Panthers, 6-1

The Buffalo Sabres were blown out by the Florida Panthers, 6-1, on Monday night at KeyBank Center.

Florida scored four of their six goals in the second period.

Brandon Montour, Patrick Hornqvist, Noel Acciari, Carter Verhaeghe, Aleksander Barkov and Anthony Duclair all scored for the Panthers.

Spencer Knight stopped 29-of-30 shots to earn the win.


John Hayden netted Buffalo’s only goal.

Craig Anderson turned aside 25-of-31 shots in the loss.

Buffalo finished 0-for-5 on the power play and 1-for-3 on the penalty kill.

The Sabres continue their five-game homestand on Thursday when they host the Vegas Golden Knights. Face-off is scheduled for 7 p.m.
