Crunch drop second straight to Comets, 5-2

The Syracuse Crunch dropped their second straight game to the Utica Comets on Saturday night by a final score of 5-2 at the Upstate Medical University Arena.

Alex Green and Cole Koepke scored for Syracuse.

Hugo Alnefelt stopped 19-of-23 shots in the loss.

The Crunch were unable to convert on their lone power play opportunity. The penalty kill finished 2-for-4.


Chase De Leo scored twice for Utica while Graeme Clarke, Alexander Holtz and Fabian Zetterlund also tallied.

Akira Schmid turned aside 31-of-33 shots to earn the victory.

The two teams will meet again on Wednesday, but this time at the Adirondack Bank Center. Face-0ff is scheduled for 7 p.m.
