Ex-felon opens new auto repair shop in Painted Post

The owner of a new automotive repair in Painted Post has a positive message of self-improvement to share with the community.

Eric Spangenberg, owner of Cowboy Up Automotive & Small Engine Repair, served roughly two years in New York state prison for possession of stolen property. When he was released in 2019, he decided to set his life on a different course.

“I wanted to do this to prove to myself, to help my family, to help myself, to help the community, and just do the right thing,” said Spangenberg, according to WENY News. “If you want to succeed, you can’t cut corners. You got to do the right thing, and that’s all there is to it.”

Cowboy Up is offering a 10% discount on repairs for veterans, active military, law enforcement, and first responders. You can visit the shop Facebook page here.
