The New York State Thruway Authority is requesting permits from the state Department of Environmental Conservation to perform maintenance on Junius Ponds Unique Area next to the Thruway.
The Thruway Authority wants to remove sediment build-up from culverts and tributaries to the pond, according to Finger Lakes Times.
The Authority says there will be no permanent environmental impacts to wetlands as a result of these maintenance efforts.
