Bella’s Sicilian Ristorante owners plan second restaurant in Border City

The owners of Bella’s Sicilian Ristorante are opening a second restaurant at the site of a former community staple for Italian food.

Bella’s owners Tomás Gonzalez, Dick Austin, and Mike Kerr, along with Austin’s fiancé Ashley Champion, are opening their new restaurant at 369 Waterloo-Geneva Road in Border City, according to Finger Lakes Times. They’ve purchased the site of former Emile’s Restaurant from longtime owner Bob Jaynes and have chosen a new name: Bella’s Seneca Lake Steakhouse.

They’re hoping to open the steakhouse’s doors on Mother’s Day weekend. That weekend marks the anniversary of Bella’s re-opening after Gonzalez was forced to close his original restaurant, La Mia Bella Sicilia, in 2018. Now, Bella’s is thriving and its owners are hoping for continued success with their new venture.
