The New York State Office of Children and Family Services (NYSOCFS) will not require child care providers to enforce a universal mask mandate starting Wednesday, March 2.
The decision comes after Governor Kathy Hochul allowed the mask mandate for schools to be lifted also on Wednesday, March 2. Although the NYSOCFS is lifting the blanket mask mandate for child care centers, individuals might still be required to wear masks in specific instances, such as if they have been exposed to someone with COVID-19, according to News10 NBC.
