IRS: Still waiting for a 2020 tax refund?

Many Americans are still waiting on their 2020 tax refunds, and we’re well on our way into 2022. Is there anything that can be done?

Many people who went through tax preparers are met with being told there is nothing that can be done.

When they track their refunds using the IRS’ tools, their status is stuck in “processing.”

By the end of 2021 there were still 6 million unprocessed returns.

That is not including amended returns, taxpayer correspondence, or employer’s taxes.

Between the pandemic and staffing issues among the IRS, these are just adding to the delays.
