The New York Yankees announced Monday that they have hired Hensley Meulens as an assistant hitting coach.
Meulens, 54, most recently served as the New York Mets bench coach. Prior to his stint with the Mets, he spent 11 years in the San Francisco Giants organization. Meulens won three World Series with the Giants over that span.
Meulens was an outfielder for the Yankees from 1989 to 1993.
He also managed Team Netherlands in the 2013 and 2017 World Baseball Classics.
