Sabres drop sixth straight with 4-2 loss to Stars

The Buffalo Sabres dropped their sixth straight game on Sunday afternoon with a 4-2 loss to the Dallas Stars at American Airlines Center.

Buffalo couldn’t get much going in the first 40 minutes of the game and that ended up costing them despite a really good third period. The Sabres outshot Dallas 23-5 in the final frame, but only scored one goal.

Buffalo was unable to convert on their lone power play opportunity while the penalty kill finished 2-for-3.

Tage Thompson and Cody Eakin netted goals for the Sabres.

Craig Anderson stopped 27-of-31 shots in the loss.

Michael Raffl scored twice for the Stars while Rope Hintz and Denis Gurianov also tallied.

Jake Oettinger turned aside 38-of-40 shots to earn the victory.

The Sabres are back in action on Wednesday when they face the Toronto Maple Leafs at Scotiabank Arena. Face-off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
