RIT ends regular season with OT loss to Air Force

The RIT men’s hockey team fell to Air Force, 1-0, in overtime on Saturday night at Cadet Ice Arena to close out the regular season.

Goaltender Tommy Scarfone stopped 33-of-34 shots in the loss. Alex Schilling made 22 saves to earn the shutout.

Both teams were unable to convert on their power play opportunities as RIT went 0-for-4 and Air Force finished 0-for-3.

Nate Horn scored the only goal of the game.

RIT clinched the fourth seed for the upcoming Atlantic Hockey Tournament along with a bye to a best-of-three home quarterfinal series vs. fifth-seeded Sacred Heart, March 11-13.
