Previous City Manager Sage Gerling left in January. The Finger Lakes Times reports the city has hired a firm headed by Livingston County Administrator Ian Coyle to help with the selection process. A committee of residents has also been put together to go through the applications. Many of the members are veterans of the last City Manager search. Gerling was hired after Matt Horn left the post in 2018. The committee held its first meeting last week, breaking up into groups to review applications.

Mayor  Steve Valentino said getting public input in the search process is important. He says the city also reached out directly to candidates it thought might be interested. The city says more updates on the search will be coming in the weeks ahead.
