Ontario County settles with mother of 4-year-old boy injured at Grimes Glen

Ontario County has settled a claim with the mother of a 4-year-old boy who was injured at Grimes Glen in Naples on June 19, 2020.

The Ontario County Board of Supervisors approved a settlement with Quincy Wilson’s mother, Erika Wilson, on February 17, 2022. Wilson had filed notice of a claim that alleges the county failed to provide adequate maintenance of Grimes Glen, a county park, according to Democrat & Chronicle.

The board unanimously approved a settlement of $375,000, though two supervisors were absent from the meeting.

Quincy Wilson suffered a traumatic brain injury after being hit by a falling rock near a natural pool at Grimes Glen in 2020. He is reportedly still receiving treatment for his injuries, and his mother updates the community on his progress via a “Support for Quincy” Facebook page.
