Deputies say a driver has been charged with driving under the influence after being airlifted from a serious one-car crash in Varick this week.
The Seneca County Sheriff’s Office reports that on February 23 deputies arrested Melvin Bulley, of Varick for DWI, and other traffic violations following a rollover crash on Route 96.
According to a news release, Bulley was operating his vehicle – traveling south – when he crossed the hazard markings on the road, traveling off the shoulder. He collided with a series of roadside signs, according to deputies.
Bulley was extricated from the vehicle, then airlifted to Strong Memorial Hospital. The investigation into the crash remains active.
