Counties in Central NY look to boost vaccine rate among 18-24 year olds

Counties in Central New York are working to get more residents in the 18 to 24 age range vaccinated against COVID-19.

In Cayuga County, only 59.9% of residents between 18 and 24 years old are vaccinated, with the number in the same age range being 72.3% for Tompkins County, according to CNY Central.

While SUNY schools requiring vaccine for their students has boosted the vaccination rate among this demographic, local officials are hoping to increase that rate to help the community fight against the spread of COVID-19.
