Cayuga County Democrats have endorsed Francia Conole in the race for New York’s 22nd Congressional District.
Conole is one of seven Democratic candidates for the newly redrawn NY-22. All seven were considered for the Cayuga County Democratic Committee’s nomination said chair Dia Carabajal, according to The Citizen. The Onondaga County Democratic Committee endorsed Conole last week.
This is the second election in which Conole has received the Cayuga County Democrats’ support, the other being in 2020 when he first ran for Congress.
The other six Democratic candidates- Vanessa Fajans-Turner, Steven Holden, Sarah Klee Hood, Chol Majok, Josh Riley and Sam Roberts- plan to continue circulating petitions in order to secure a spot on the June 28 primary ballot.
