Romulus man taken into custody after hours long standoff with deputies at campground

Deputies arrested a Romulus man following a several hour standoff at Snedacker’s Campground.

According to a news release, Lawrence Bonome, of Romulus was charged with menacing and disorderly conduct after the incident.


Deputies were called to the campground after 911 received calls that a male camper was yelling, waiving a baseball bat at people.

Bonome had entered his RV and refused to come out for several hours.

He was eventually taken into custody and turned over to corrections. The charges will be answered at a later date.

A stay away order of protection was requested for the victims.
